The Base Hardwired System

We start by securing the perimeter of  your home. All exterior access points are individually secured using recessed and hidden switches. All exterior doors, accessible windows and garages are included. We survey your entire perimeter to check for possible access points, and we cover them.

In the second tier of protection, places that may likely be entered through broken glass (sliding glass doors are infamous for this!) are secured with the best glass break detectors in the industry.

We put a lot of effort into the first two tiers of security because this is the part of your security system that protects your family at night when you're home asleep.

The third tier of protection comes in the form of interior passive infrared motion detectors. Just two or three, installed very discreetly, in prime logistic locations. These are primarily used as  backup detectors while the family is away from home. If you have pets, that's okay too, our motion detectors are pet friendly.

The alarm system panel is then secured in a small locked steel case and mounted in a remote location (out of sight and out of mind), this is what powers the system, and it includes a backup battery source to keep your system fully up and running in the event of a power failure or intentional severing of your power supply. The panel is then connected into a telephone service that "captures" the line in the event of an emergency, so even if an extension is taken of the hook, your system will still take control of the line and call for help through an optional monitoring service.

Two separate sounding devices are installed, one inside to alert your family, and one in a remote location on the outside of your home to alert your neighbors, this is the one that usually makes the bad guys run so fast that they leave behind their tools!

We then wrap up by installing the control keypads. One at or near the main entry(s), and one in the master bedroom. These keypads are really all the homeowner ever sees of the security system. They give the feedback on what's happening in your home, and what has happened while you weren't looking. With the keypad's event buffer you can quickly determine when the system has been activated or deactivated and by whom (each family member, or others of your choosing, will have their own unique code).

This is our base package, and when the badguys see the Northwest Residential Alarms decal at your home, they'll know they better go look for easier prey!
